IN OUR EXPERIENCE THE M.BUTTON SOLVES A PROBLEM THAT DOESN'T EXIST. CONTRARY TO WHAT YOU'VE LIKELY READ, THE M-BUTTON IS NOT EASIER, FASTER, OR IN ANY WAY LESS COMPLICATED THAN RUNNING DIRECT WIRES FROM YOUR SWITCHES TO THE M-UNIT. THE M-BUTTON MUST BE INSTALLED INSIDE YOUR HANDLE BARS AND THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE TASK.

m-Button Wiring Diagram & Troubleshooting

DESCRIPTION

Compatible with all m-Unit models, The m-Button converts the signals to digital and sends them over a single, thin cable by modern bus technology to the m-Unit V. where all the signals are switched on and off. All control lines go into the handlebars.

The m-Button allows you to minimize the amount of cables needed running back to your m.Unit. All switches / buttons on the handlebars are connected to the m-Button via the shortest path, in the handlebars. The m-Button then uses a single thin cable that is led to m-Unit. The signals are directly connected to the m-Unit V.2, m-Unit Blue, and m-Unit Basic.

The m-Button is completely sealed, waterproof, and vibration resistant.

Takes a bit of planning and effort to get all this into the inside of you handlebars and attached to your momentary switches. You'll need to leave time to plan and assemble but the benefit of having all those connections reduced down to one wire (plus a ground) is worth it.

    Simplified wiring!

I wired this into my head light bucket and the wire runs right past my ignition and coils with NO PROBLEMS at all! Got a 3 button m.Switch for left hand controls, and a 2 button for the right. (1977 CB750). All that wiring stays up front in the headlight bucket, and 1 wire back to the m.unit.

    Motogadget M-Button

Thought it was a gimmicky type of product before but really does help simplify wiring. Wires are thin but it’s for a reason, it’s a lot of wires in a small package.
