Since our discovery of Apex 2.8’s every project receiving a new Reg/Rec has one of these on it. If you find satisfaction in doing things the right way and solace in knowing you could avoid ever having another meltdown, then read on.

Stator wires carry a significant amount of current and as wiring ages and terminals corrode, resistance builds up generating heat that exhausts the thermal protection of the connector leading to a connector that looks like a toasted marshmallow.

APEX 2.8 Connectors are ideal for Stator to Regulator connections but versatile enough for many other motorcycle applications. Large terminals mean large contact surfaces allowing each to carry up to 40 amps of current. While water seals lock out moisture and the corrosion it creates.

  • Ideal for Regulator/Rectifier connections but versatile enough for many other applications.

  • 40 amps per terminal

  • 2, 3, 4, & 6 pole options.
  • Two terminal sizes 14-16AWG and 16-20AWG*

  • Easy to assemble and service

  • Easy release latch with locking mechanism

  • Mounting tab

  • Meets or Exceeds USCAR and GMW3191 Standards

  • Watertight up to IP 68

  • Temperature range -40ºc to 150ºC
  • Vibration Performance 12 G

*Each connector is supplied with 14-16AWG terminals, enough to make one mistake. The 16-20AWG Terminals are Gold plated making them expensive if you’re not planning to use them so these are offered as an add-on option in which case you'll receive both terminal sizes.

**On an 8 wire Stator we use a 2 pole for the Field Excitement wires and a 6 Pole for the remaining wires.

    Better then OEM

Put these on my ‘79 GS1000 because It kept melting the vintage bullet style connectors I’d been using. I’ve had them on for a few weeks now and everything seems good to go.

    Crimping was terrible

Posted by Thomas on May 28th 2020

I love the connectors look and feel. When i was missing a gasket, the guys at Revival were great in getting me a replacement. When i had questions, they were super helpful and got me documents and such to make sure i used the products correctly.

But the crimping of the connectors onto the wires was a nightmare.
I have a very good double barrel crimper that worked on my whole project. Could not use it on these. I bought the single crimper as recommended and it was iffy. I ended up lightly crimping and then adding a touch of solder to hold it tight.

The connectors (metal pieces not the plastic housing) kept breaking under the crimp or else not crimping tight enough to hold the wire.

This was my first big project So i acknowledge that it could have been me; but i got through the whole harness with about as much ease as two of these connectors.

Now that they’re on they look and feel great.

I would recommend them to someone patient and with the time and tools to make sure the cramps are good.

    And buy extra connectors!
